Jottings and Journals
- Share a Personal Story
Journal Your Thoughts
"All
in all, art represents the need of one human being to communicate with
another." ~Edvard Munch
Jottings and journals is a page for you to share your personal story
regarding an experience with breast cancer, or telling a story of someone
you know that is fighting breast cancer. This website is about giving gifts
when you don't know someone, random acts of kindness and the power of the
written word. Email is so impersonal so sit down, take a moment and journal
or jot down your thoughts. Share them with me and I will post them for
others to read. You never know when the words you write touch someone in a
special supportive way. We aren't alone, let your thoughts and your story
help others when they
need it most. Send them to
jottings@gift-it-forward.com
I'm
so glad you can use the fabric. I find that I'm not
keeping a big stash any more, I seem to prefer to
purchase for a project, so there may be more on it's way
to you and the church ladies. I guess I'm sort of
gifting it forward also.
Hope you new year is great, and happy sewing.
Joan
Dear Bev,
What a
generous and thoughtful idea. I am a breast cancer survivor and
a quilter :-) When I read what the money is going for I cried as
it is still fresh in my mind. I was fortunate to have 3 wigs,
which I donated when my hair grew back but understand there are
many women going through what I did that don't have the income
to buy even one.
I sent
your site info to everyone in my address book and hope you
hear from some if not to purchase then to donate for you to
sell.
Blessings to
you Bev,
Darly Dulion
Dear Bev
The effort and care that went into the quilted postcard was
in such stark contrast to the volumes of "junk mail" that I
receive daily, that it made me pause and reflect on times
when life was less rushed and stressed. The fabric of the
postcard reminded me of my childhood, and I couldn't help
but feel love and comfort as I realized the effort put into
the special postcard for me. What a beautifully unique way
of sharing the small joys in life... Thank you.
I found your website
and I think what you are doing is a fantastic idea. My next door
neighbor just had a double mastectomy and her self esteem is
really low. Her prognosis is quite optimistic, but she is
struggling with emotional issues from the cancer and the
mastectomies. I want to help any way I can. Keep up the good
work and I love the postcards.Francis
